Academy Rules and Guidelines

1) Donate:

- Minimum: 1/4 of overnight harvest to EACH of luxury and sawmill per day. This allows you to have resources for growth, and not irritate your island mates.
- Daily donations are better in the long run than occasional large donations.

2) Listen to Your Mentor:

- There is a reason he/she is a mentor. You cannot become a mentor without having first learned, and you cannot be promoted to OLY without
mentoring, and you cannot do that without your mentor first saying you
are ready, so its easier in the long run anyways.

3) Mentor your Trainees:

- You cannot be promoted to OLY unless your trainee (at least one) becomes ready for mentoring, so train them up well, and be available to them.

4) Visit the forums at least once every other day:

- We will announce some things on the forums that will not be even mentioned in-game.
- This is in preparation for OLY, as they are very active in the forums, so you might as well get used to it now.

5) If you wish to pillage:

a) ONLY PILLAGE INACTIVES

- we are a training alliance, and we do not have the military to go to war
because you decided you wanted to "try something". Sure, OLY is our
backup to keep us from being bullied, but should NOT take
advantage of that. Any pillaging done outside of our policy will result
in expulsion, immediate, and unwarned (well, you're being warned, so
technically not Unwarned, just that this is your LAST warning).

b) If you are pillaging an inactive who belongs to an alliance, you have two options: ask them or ask Staff. Most alliances won't care, but there is always the chance they knew of an extended leave that was sudden (like due to a death in the family or something along those lines) and did not allow vacation, or the person didn't think they would be gone as long as they have been.
- Just send a quick message to the diplomat of the alliance, something like:
"so-and-so from your alliance shares an island with me and has gone
inactive, i am going to pillage, but wanted to make sure i wouldn't
offend."
- Failing that, send your Leader or Diplomat a message, and we will
talk to the other alliance about it, and let you know what's what (or
maybe even just tell you to go ahead).
- This is mostly so you have some idea of how to deal with other alliances through diplomacy and courtesy within the game.

6) HAVE FUN, and i mean it!!

- If you aren't having fun, this is no longer a game, and we'll send the
Ikariam Gestapo to your house to tickle you until you pee yourself.
- The above statement is not a threat, it is a joke intended solely to
get a chuckle so as to blunt some of the harshness of all the "DO IT
NOW" type rules.
